Ümit Davala — Biography
Ümit Aydın Davala (born 30 July 1973 in Mannheim) is a Turkish football coach, pundit and rap musician who was born and raised in Germany and played as a right winger and right-back, covering almost every position on the right flank.
During his spell at Galatasaray between 1996 and 2001 he won four Süper Lig titles, three Turkish Cups, one UEFA Cup and one UEFA Super Cup. He joined Milan in 2001, Internazionale in 2002 and Werder Bremen in 2003, winning the 2003-04 Bundesliga in Germany before an injury in 2005 ended his playing career. He made 41 appearances for Turkey, scoring 4 goals, and was part of the squad that finished third at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, where his mohawk haircut became one of the tournament's images.
He later moved into coaching and released a rap album, "UD 2004", in 2004. In January 2026 Turkish media reported that he was among 43 coaches referred to the Turkish federation's disciplinary board as part of a betting investigation; no outcome is reported in the available sources.
