Ünal Karaman — Biography
Ünal Karaman is a former Turkish footballer and football manager born on 29 June 1966 in Konya. As a midfielder he represented clubs such as Ankaragücü, Trabzonspor, Gaziantepspor and Konyaspor before moving into coaching, where he went on to manage several Süper Lig sides, most recently Göztepe.
After his sporting career, Karaman entered politics and was elected to Turkey's Grand National Assembly as a Good Party (İYİ Parti) deputy for Konya in the 2023 general election. He resigned from the Good Party in January 2025 and subsequently joined the ruling AKP the following month.
