Vedat İnceefe — Biography
Vedat İnceefe is a former footballer and coach who won four league titles as a defender at Galatasaray and played in all three of Turkey's matches at UEFA Euro 1996. He was once known by the nickname Reis. After his playing days he moved into coaching, and he has also stepped into cinema, playing Abdullah Çatlı in the film Çatlı.
He turned professional with Soma Sotesspor and then moved to the second-division side Kardemir Karabükspor. While at Karabükspor he was called up to the national team by Fatih Terim; he was in the squad for Euro 1996 but wore the national shirt only in 1996. After that tournament he signed for Galatasaray and soon became a regular in the starting eleven. With the club he won the league in 1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99 and 2001-02, the Presidential Cup in 1996 and 1997, and the UEFA Super Cup in 2000. He was loaned to İstanbulspor in January 2000, so he was not in the squad that lifted the UEFA Cup that season. In 2003 he joined Vestel Manisaspor, and he also played for Bursaspor.
He began coaching with Yeni Malatyaspor in 2010, beat Fenerbahçe 2-1 in the Turkish Cup and resigned in February 2011. He moved to Bugsaşspor in 2011, but that spell ended within the same year. Ahead of the 2013-14 season he took charge of Galatasaray's under-19 side at Fatih Terim's request and stayed until October 2013. In early 2014 he was appointed to the Turkey under-19 team, and in March 2015 he became Terim's assistant.
