Yalçın Ayhan — Biography
Yalçın Ayhan (born 1 May 1982 in Şişli, Istanbul) is a Turkish former professional footballer. Standing 1.92 m, he played at the heart of the defence as a centre back.
Across a long domestic career he turned out for clubs including İstanbulspor, Sakaryaspor, Antalyaspor, Gaziantepspor, Manisaspor, Kayseri Erciyesspor, Orduspor, Kasımpaşa and Galatasaray, making him one of the most-travelled players of his generation in Turkey. He spent part of the 2010s with İstanbul Başakşehir, parted company with the club in the summer of 2017 and joined MKE Ankaragücü in 2019. At international level he appeared for the Turkey A2 side.
A proposed move to Beşiktaş in 2017 drew heavy coverage in the Turkish press but never materialised; Ayhan later spoke publicly about how badly the collapsed transfer affected him.
