Yavuz Özkan — Biography

Yavuz Özkan was born on 19 May 1985 in Denizli. The 1.90 m goalkeeper started out in the youth ranks of his hometown club Denizlispor before turning professional with Denizli Belediyespor. He moved to Bursaspor in 2006, had a loan spell at Tarsus İdman Yurdu, and returned to serve mainly as backup to goalkeeper Dimitar İvankov.

Despite his limited game time, Özkan was part of the Bursaspor squad that won the Süper Lig title in the 2009-10 season. He was loaned to 1. Lig side Adanaspor for 2012-13, then signed a one-year contract with Şanlıurfaspor on 13 August 2013. Later in his career he also played for Fatih Karagümrük, and is remembered mainly as a goalkeeper who spent most of his career in the lower divisions of Turkish football.
