Yıldıray Baştürk — Biography
Yıldıray Baştürk (born 24 December 1978 in Herne, West Germany) is a Turkish former international footballer who played as an attacking midfielder.
Born and raised in Germany, he played for Wattenscheid 09, VfL Bochum, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Hertha BSC, VfB Stuttgart and the English club Blackburn Rovers. In 2002 he appeared for Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League final.
Capped 49 times for Turkey, he was part of the squad that finished third at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. After retiring as a player, he took on a role with the Turkish Football Federation as its coordinator for Germany.
