Yunus Altun — Biography
Yunus Altun was born on 25 August 1977 in the Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul. A striker by position, he built a long playing career between 1996 and 2013, representing clubs including Altay, Bucaspor, Sarıyer, Kocaelispor, Bursaspor and Malatyaspor.
Altun was the TFF First League's top scorer in back-to-back seasons, 2001-02 and 2002-03, and his tally of 153 goals in the division ranks him among its most prolific strikers; over the course of his career he helped his teams win promotion to the Süper Lig on three occasions. After hanging up his boots he remained a recognizable figure in Turkish football, occasionally appearing in the sports press to offer tactical commentary.
