Zeliha Şimşek — Biography

Zeliha Şimşek was born on April 30, 1981, in İskenderun, in Turkey's Hatay province. A graduate of Karadeniz Technical University, she played as a midfielder in Turkish women's football.

In 2007 she became one of the founding members of the Trabzonspor women's football team, later serving as its captain and, at times, as its coach, and helped lead the club to a Turkish Women's Football League championship. According to TFF records, her playing career ran from 2001 to 2012.

After retiring from the pitch, Şimşek is known to have gone on to work in education, and she is remembered as one of the pioneering figures in the development of women's football in Turkey.
