Alexandra Nikiforova — Biography

Alexandra Nikiforova is a Russian actress born on 16 February 1993 in Sevastopol. Her aunt's membership in the Black Sea Fleet Theatre troupe drew her toward acting early on, and between 2008 and 2010 she appeared in various productions with the Sevastopol Youth Theatre and the Psycho Del Art Theatre. She later moved to Moscow, transferring to the Shchepkin Theatre School, and became known in Russia for the lead role in the series Detective Anna, a performance that earned her a Best Dramatic Actress nomination at the 2017 Seoul International Drama Awards. She also appeared in productions such as Otpusk po Raneniju, Leningrad 46, Kumir and Doktor Richter, the 2018 drama Idol, and the series Ragged Melody alongside Serbian actor Mir Marić.

She gained international recognition playing the Russian spy character Anna in Kalbimin Sultanı, a series set in 19th-century Istanbul and broadcast on Star TV in 2018-2019; she took Turkish lessons for the role and starred alongside a large cast headed by Ali Ersan Duru. Around the same period she also hosted the television programme Signs of Fate.
