Asuman Krause — Biography

Asuman Krause (born 1 March 1976 in Berlin) is a Turkish-German singer, actress, television host and former model. She was born in Germany to a Circassian mother from Adapazarı and a German father, and went on to build her career largely in Turkey.

Her initial fame came through modelling. In 1998 she competed in the Miss Turkey contest run by Kanal D; Turkish sources state that she placed second, whereas English-language sources credit her with winning the title and representing Turkey at Miss Universe 1998. The pageant opened the door to television, where she started out as a presenter.

She moved into acting in the mid-2000s. In 2005 she played the "2nd Angel" in the feature Sen Ne Dilersen and appeared in the series Sonradan Görme and Dikkat Şahan Çıkabilir. The following year brought roles in the series Aynı Çatı Altında and the film Karanlıkta Makyaj.

Alongside acting she recorded music: her first album Çok Yalnızım was released in 2006, with Kukla following in 2008. That same year she starred in Ece with Mehmet Ali Erbil, Hande Ataizi and Cengiz Küçükayvaz. She later turned up in Mükemmel Çift and Komedi Dükkanı (2010) and İşler Güçler (2012). In subsequent years she concentrated on hosting, fronting the programme Asuman Krause ile Hayat Güzeldir.
