Aykut Oray — Biography
Ahmet Aykut Oray (13 October 1942, Üsküdar, Istanbul – 11 August 2009, Köyceğiz, Muğla) was a Turkish theatre, film and television actor.
He studied at the Faculty of Literature of Istanbul University and completed a master's degree in Hittitology. He began acting in 1961 with the university's student theatre and turned professional in 1963. He made his television debut in 1988 with the series Perihan Abla and became widely known for his role as "Katil" in the long-running series Bizimkiler.
His film roles included Deli Yusuf (1975), Şarkıcı (2001), Şellale (2001) and Janjan (2007). In his later years he also entered politics as a member of the Republican People's Party (CHP). He died of a heart attack on 11 August 2009 in Köyceğiz, where he was attending a local film festival.
