Banu Sıvacı — Biography
Banu Sıvacı is a Turkish film director and screenwriter born in Adana in 1987, who studied at Çukurova University. She first drew attention with her debut feature Güvercin (The Pigeon), which had its world premiere at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival in 2018.
Eight years later she returned to the Berlinale with her second feature, Günyüzü, which premiered there in February 2026 and went on to compete for the Golden Tulip at the Istanbul Film Festival.
