Barbara Alberti — Biography
Barbara Alberti (born 11 April 1943 in Umbertide) is an Italian writer, screenwriter, journalist and philosopher. After studying at Sapienza University of Rome, she built a prolific career spanning literature, theatre and film, becoming a long-established figure in Italian cultural life through her novels, plays and screenplays. She has also worked as a radio and television host.
Alongside more than four decades of screenwriting for Italian cinema, Alberti also appeared on screen: in Ferzan Özpetek's 2019 film The Goddess of Fortune, she played the role of Elena Muscarà alongside Stefano Accorsi and Jasmine Trinca.
