Ece Dizdar — Biography

Because her father served as a submarine officer, Ece Dizdar spent her childhood moving between Turkish cities and postings in Pakistan, Belgium and the UK, usually attending DoDDS American schools; she first took to the stage at 12 in school musicals in Belgium. She lost both parents in the 1999 Gölcük earthquake, and after graduating from Marmara University's Faculty of Communication she moved to London and trained on scholarship at the ARTSED acting academy.

She made her stage debut in 2003 at the Istanbul State Theatre, later performing at British venues such as the Young Vic, the Arcola and BBC Radio, and has translated plays for Dot Theatre, where she has also acted since 2008. Her performance in 'Çekmeceler' won her Most Successful Actress of the Year at the Sadri Alışık Awards, and her role in 'Aşk, Büyü vs.' brought her the Istanbul Film Festival's Best Actress award.

Her screen career began in 2002 with 'En Son Babalar Duyar', followed by series such as 'Al Yazmalım', 'Güneşi Beklerken', 'Fi', 'Siyah Beyaz Aşk', 'Yasak Elma', 'Alef', 'Sipahi' and 'Düğüm', and films including 'Küçük Şeyler' and 'Mavi Mağara'; in 2026 she took on the role of Vespera in the series 'Gustav'. She married actor Serdar Orçin in Istanbul in June 2025.
