Drawers (Çekmeceler)

Drawers is a 2015 Turkish drama film directed by Caner Alper and Mehmet Binay from a screenplay by Caner Alper. Inspired by a true story, the film was produced entirely independently, without any external funding. It premiered at the !f İstanbul Independent Film Festival and was released by distributor Pinema on March 6, 2015, just ahead of International Women's Day, opening with an 18 age restriction in 105 theaters across 27 cities.

The film follows a woman shaped by childhood traumas, examining her sexuality through the lens of society's notions of masculinity and honor; the second meaning of its English title underscores this harsh pressure. With music by Hasan Özsüt, Demir Demirkan and Işıl Özsüt, the film won Best Film at the 20th Turkey-Germany Film Festival, while its lead actresses Ece Dizdar, Nilüfer Açıkalın and Tilbe Saran received Best Actress awards.
