Devin Özgür Çınar — Biography

Devin Özgür Çınar was born in the Devrek district of Zonguldak on June 21, 1973, and graduated in 1996 from the Drama department of Hacettepe University's Ankara State Conservatory; she then gained stage experience with a Bakırköy municipal theatre troupe in Can Yücel's play Bahar Noktası, and in later years also appeared in the stage productions Yeni Kiracı and Mikadonun Çöpleri.

She entered television in 1998 as Cennet in İkinci Bahar, then took on a range of characters in series such as Dayı, Hayat Türküsü, Köpek, Parmaklıklar Ardında, Türk Malı, Galip Derviş and Sevdaluk, and played Hülya in Kalbimdeki Deniz in 2016. On film she appeared in Dar Alanda Kısa Paslaşmalar, Abuzer Kadayıf, Hiçbir Yerde, Gönül Yarası and Geriye Kalan; the latter role won her Best Actress honors at the 48th Golden Orange Film Festival, held in Antalya. In 2015 she appeared in Robinson Crusoe & Cuma and Guruldayan Kalpler, and in 2017 in Aile Arasında.

She currently appears as Ezgi in GAİN's series 10 Bin Adım, and also wrote the screenplay for the platform's series FER. She has spoken publicly about her views on family, arguing that a biological tie is not the only definition of one.
