Song of Life (Hayat Türküsü) (translated)

Hayat Türküsü is a Turkish drama series produced by Koliba Film and broadcast on TRT 1 between 2006 and 2007. Running for two seasons, the show concluded with a total of 61 episodes. The first season was filmed in Van, while production moved to Istanbul for the second season.

Inspired by the "Let's Get Girls to School" campaign, the series follows Hayat, an idealistic graduate of Kocaeli University's Faculty of Education, as she battles to bring schooling to a remote mountain village in Van. Having grown up listening to her mother's village stories, she sets out to fulfill her dream of teaching in eastern Turkey. Beyond educational challenges, the drama tackles poverty, customary pressures and child marriage through themes of solidarity and sacrifice. Devin Özgür Çınar stars in the lead role, alongside cast members including Çağlar Çorumlu, Özlem Başkaya and Meltem Pamirtan.
