Haldun Boysan — Biography

Haldun Boysan (6 July 1958 in Ankara - 31 August 2020 in Nevşehir) was a Turkish film and television actor and voice artist. He studied theatre at Ankara University's Faculty of Language, History and Geography.

Across a career of more than 25 years he appeared in over two hundred productions. His film work included Gemide (1998, as Kamil), Melekler Evi, Yazı Tura, Sen Ne Dilersen (2005, as Rıfkı), Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam'ın Oğlu, Zincirbozan (as Süleyman Demirel), Çakal, Mihrez: Cin Padişahı, Benzersiz and Kervan 1915, while on television he featured in Hürrem Sultan, Merhamet, Ulan İstanbul, Ege'nin Hamsisi and Maria ile Mustafa.

He was best known to a wide audience as Tombalacı Mehmet in the series Valley of the Wolves. He died on 31 August 2020 in Ürgüp, Nevşehir, at the age of 62; his death was widely reported by Turkish media and mourned across the country's film and theatre community.
