Toss-Up (Yazı Tura)

Heads or Tails is a 2004 Turkish drama film produced, written, and directed by Uğur Yücel. It stars Kenan İmirzalıoğlu and Olgun Şimşek in the lead roles; the music is by Erkan Oğur. The extensive cast also includes Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan, Engin Günaydın, Erkan Can, Teoman Kumbaracıbaşı, and Seda Akman.

The film tells the story of two young men who are injured while serving in the military in Eastern Anatolia. Cevher, nicknamed "Ghost," loses an ear, and Rıdvan, nicknamed "Devil," loses a leg. Although Cevher tries to rebuild his life in Istanbul and Rıdvan in Ürgüp, the scars they carry, both physically and mentally, make it difficult for them to adapt to civilian life. Even after years, they cannot forget the trauma.

Through two separate lives, the film touches upon the Turkish-Greek issue with Cevher's story and the Turkish-Kurdish issue with Rıdvan's story. Having won numerous awards at various festivals, the film achieved a record number of accolades at the 41st Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor.
