Şinasi Yurtsever — Biography
Mustafa Şinasi Yurtsever, born on 16 July 1973 — according to his Wikipedia biography in Erzincan, from where his family relocated to İzmir in 1981 — trained at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dokuz Eylül University under Özdemir Nutku. He first reached a wide television audience playing Selçuk in Küçük İbo between 1997 and 2000, then took roles in a run of popular series including Avrupa Yakası, Yabancı Damat and Aşk ve Ceza.
His film debut came in 2003 with Yazı Tura, and after meeting director Selçuk Aydemir in 2009 he became a regular presence in his comedies, playing a producer in İşler Güçler and Yılmaz in both Düğün Dernek films. Also known for playing Büyük Hilmi in Kardeş Payı, he appeared in dozens of other films and series over a nearly three-decade career, including Çalgı Çengi, Geniş Aile 2 and Dört Köşe, with his final television role coming in Tutunamayanlar in 2020 and his last stage appearance in the 2024-2025 production Hücreler. He died of stomach cancer on 13 March 2025 in Istanbul and was buried at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
