Vavien
Vavien is a 2009 Turkish film directed by Yağmur and Durul Taylan, known as the Taylan Brothers, from a screenplay by Engin Günaydın, who also stars. Blending drama and comedy into a darkly humorous character study, the İmaj production opened on 18 December 2009, with filming carried out in Erbaa, Tokat.
The story follows Celal, who endures an unhappy family life with his wife Sevilay and their child while the electrical shop he runs with his brother Cemal sinks deeper into debt. His infatuation with Sibel, a woman he meets at a nightclub in Samsun, and his discovery of the money his wife has secretly saved for years push him toward a plan that leads to unexpected turns. Alongside Günaydın and Binnur Kaya, the cast includes Serra Yılmaz, Settar Tanrıöğen, İlker Aksum, Şinasi Yurtsever and Ercan Kesal. Critics have regarded the film as one of the most notable works of recent Turkish cinema.
