Olgun Şimşek — Biography
Olgun Şimşek was born on 1 June 1971 in Bursa. After completing his primary and secondary education in Bursa, he graduated from the Theatre Department of the Istanbul University State Conservatory in 1993.
He began his career with television programmes and became widely known through his character Güçlü on İbo Show, the character Kudret in Bir Demet Tiyatro and the character Sabit Ballıoğlu in the series Yedi Numara. For his portrayal of Rıdvan in Yazı Tura, Uğur Yücel's directorial debut, he won numerous awards, above all the Golden Orange.
The actor earned great acclaim by playing the characters Selahattin and Ahmet simultaneously in the series Yalan Dünya, and appeared in films such as Karışık Pizza, Vavien and Gözetleme Kulesi as well as in series such as Beyaz Gelincik, Kapalı Çarşı, Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz and Ramo. In 2023 he played Mustafa in the Netflix series Terzi, and in 2024 he joined the cast of Kara Ağaç Destanı.
