Engin Günaydın — Biography
Born in 1972 in the Erbaa district of Tokat, Engin Günaydın trained in theatre at the conservatory of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. He first drew attention playing the character 'Zabıta İrfan' on the show Bir Demet Tiyatro, then reached nationwide fame as 'Burhan Altıntop' in the Gülse Birsel-written series Avrupa Yakası.
He also wrote the screenplay for Vavien (2009), which won Yeşilçam and SİYAD awards for best screenplay, and went on to appear in a wide range of films and series, including Takva (2006) and Muhteşem Yüzyıl (2011), where his portrayal of the eunuch Gül Ağa brought him international recognition. After starring in the 2022 Netflix dark-comedy series Andropoz, he is now filming 2 Aile Arasında, the sequel to Aile Arasında (2017), alongside Erdal Özyağcılar and Demet Evgar, with the film expected to reach theaters in December 2026.
