Binnur Kaya — Biography

Binnur Kaya was born in Ankara on April 19, 1972, and graduated from the Theatre Department of Bilkent University's Faculty of Music and Performing Arts in 1995. She began her career in children's theatres and at the Bakırköy Municipal Theatre before moving into television with the series Kaynanalar.

Over a career spanning more than three decades, Kaya has appeared in productions such as İnşaat, Yabancı Damat, Babam ve Oğlum, Küçük Kıyamet and Avrupa Yakası. Her performance in the film Vavien earned her best actress honors at both the Yeşilçam and SİYAD (Turkish Film Critics' Association) awards, and her role in Aramızda Kalsın won her the best comedy actress award at the Golden Butterfly Awards. She went on to win wide audience acclaim in later projects including Muhteşem Yüzyıl, Sen Kiminle Dans Ediyorsun?, Bizi Hatırla, Cinayet Süsü and Kırmızı Oda.

In March 2026, Kaya received the İsmail Dümbüllü Award from the Ataşehir Municipality, presented to her by veteran performer Müjdat Gezen; she visited Dümbüllü's grave the same day. She has also announced a role in the upcoming series Düğünümüz Var.
