Teoman Kumbaracıbaşı — Biography
Teoman Kumbaracıbaşı was born on 18 October 1971 in San Nicolás de los Arroyos, Argentina, to a Turkish father and an Argentine mother. He moved to Turkey with his family at age six and learned Turkish in primary school. He discovered theatre while attending the Austrian High School in Istanbul, later earning a degree in naval architecture and marine engineering from Istanbul Technical University, and worked in various theatres both on stage and behind the scenes.
He made his film debut in the 2003 feature "Yazı Tura", playing a gay character named Teoman, and went on to appear in more than twenty film and television projects. His credits include the series "Aşka Sürgün" and "Gözyaşı Çetesi", roles in the Eyyvah Eyvah film series starring Ata Demirer, and, in later years, parts in productions such as "Destan", "Kuruluş Osman", "Dilek Taşı" and "Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı". Alongside acting, he co-founded the Kraft Dubbing Studio with Aslı Tandoğan and Beste Bereket and has directed a private high school's theatre group.
Kumbaracıbaşı has also drawn media attention in Turkey — and even in Argentina, which he had not visited since age fourteen — for selling homemade milk jam at local markets.
