Ülkü Duru — Biography

Ülkü Duru Gökseven is a Turkish theatre, film and television actress, born on 20 April 1957 in Istanbul. She studied at the Sainte-Pulchérie and Notre Dame de Sion high schools; she started ballet at the Municipal Conservatory at the age of five and later graduated from the conservatory's theatre department. She is an actress of the Istanbul State Theatre.

She first appeared in front of the camera in the 1971 film Sindrella Kül Kedisi and went on to act in Salak Milyoner (1974), Gölge Oyunu (1992), C-Blok (1993) and Yer Çekimli Aşklar (1995). She became widely known with the 1996 film Eşkıya.

Her first series was Samanyolu in 1989; she appeared in the series Kaygısızlar (1994), Aliye (2004), Son (2012) and Kaderimin Oyunu (2021), and is remembered especially for the character Nusret in Aliye. In 2025 she appeared in the Netflix series Platonik: Mavi Dolunay Otel.

She is married to actor İştar Gökseven.
