The Fool Millionaire (Salak Milyoner) (translated)

Salak Milyoner is a 1974 Turkish comedy film directed by Ertem Eğilmez from a screenplay by Sadık Şendil. Produced by Arzu Film, it follows four siblings who travel from their village to Istanbul in search of a treasure map left behind by their father, and chronicles their misadventures in the big city.

Unable to agree on how to divide the gold, the brothers dig up the house where the treasure is supposedly hidden, stumbling through a string of comic predicaments. The ensemble brings together some of Turkish cinema's finest comic performers, including Kemal Sunal, Zeki Alasya, Metin Akpınar, Münir Özkul, Adile Naşit, Halit Akçatepe, Perran Kutman, Meral Zeren and Oya Alasya. The film's popularity led to a follow-up, Köyden İndim Şehire, set in Ankara.
