Blue Bead (Mavi Boncuk) (translated)

Mavi Boncuk (Blue Bead) is a 1974 Turkish comedy film directed by Ertem Eğilmez and produced by Arzu Film. Released on January 1, 1975, the film is notable for bringing together veteran actors of Yeşilçam (Turkish cinema's golden age) in a single cast and has since become a classic of Turkish cinema.

In the film, the famous singer Emel Sayın appears in a role of herself. A group of friends, mistreated and thrown out of the nightclub where she worked, angrily decide to kidnap the nightclub's lead singer. They wrap Sayın in a rug and hide her in the attic of their house, and an unexpected closeness develops between them and the singer; even after a ransom is paid, Emel refuses to leave, and the story concludes with a sweet love story.

In addition to Tarık Akan in the role of Necmi, the cast includes Zeki Alasya, Metin Akpınar, Halit Akçatepe, Münir Özkul, Adile Naşit, and Kemal Sunal. Zeki Alasya also contributed to the screenplay, and Eğilmez handled the production. Emel Sayın's song "Mavi Boncuk," which gives the film its name, has become one of the most memorable elements of the production.
