The Milky Way (Samanyolu) (translated)

Samanyolu (The Milky Way) is a Turkish romantic television drama broadcast on TRT 1 in 1989 and directed by Kartal Tibet. Based on Kerime Nadir's novel of the same name, the production ended after just four episodes.

The story revolves around Zülal and Nejat, step-cousins who have grown up together since childhood and share a deep, unspoken passion for one another. Unable to confess their feelings, they eventually drift apart as life pulls them in different directions, and this separation forms the emotional core of the narrative.

Despite its brief run, the series holds a place among the television adaptations of Kerime Nadir's works and reflects the melodramatic storytelling style of its era in Turkish broadcasting.
