Robbery Alla Turca (Hırsız Var!)
Robbery Alla Turca is a 2005 Turkish comedy directed by Oğuzhan Tercan, written by Haluk Özenç, and produced by Med Yapım. Released in Turkey on 21 January 2005 and in Germany on 10 February, it soon opened across Europe in three languages. Made on a budget of roughly ten million dollars, the film was also noted for its unobtrusive use of high-definition digital cameras, a relatively new technology at the time.
Over the course of one night, the story intertwines a banker's wife, her fashion-designer brother, a famous model, the model's gangster boyfriend, a gang of thieves planning a heist at the hotel hosting a fashion show, and the tabloid press. Haluk Bilginer, Mehmet Ali Erbil and Birol Ünel lead a large ensemble that also includes Fatih Akın, Gamze Özçelik, Gülse Birsel and Suna Pekuysal.
