Mustafa Turan — Biography

Mustafa Turan is an actor who moved from the stage to the screen and has worked in theatre, film and television for more than thirty years. He is an actor at the Diyarbakır State Theatre and a member of ÇASOD. On screen he has appeared in productions such as Sultan Makamı, Hırsız Var! and Melekler Korusun, and more recently in Kurak Günler (2022), known internationally as Burning Days, and Dönence (2023).

He began his artistic life in 1986 with amateur theatre groups in Rize and Istanbul, and graduated in 1993 from the Theatre Acting Department of the Anadolu University State Conservatory. He performed with the Eskişehir Theatre Company (1995), Yeditepe Players (1998), Tiyatro Ayna (2000) and the Bostancı Show Center (2002), and worked with directors such as Ergin Orbey, Dinçer Sümer, Aydın Teker and Metin Balay. At the Diyarbakır State Theatre his plays include Mem ile Zin, Kafkas Tebeşir Dairesi, Üç Kız Kardeş and Süleyman ve Öbürsüler.

He first stood before the camera in 1990 in Kiraz Çiçek Açıyor. Between 1999 and 2001 he appeared in films such as Üçüncü Sayfa, Filler ve Çimen and Hiçbiryerde, then in series such as Avrupa Yakası and Sultan Makamı. He played Kurtuluş in Hırsız Var!; Kolpaçino: Bomba (2011), Hükümet Kadın 2 (2014), Deccal 2 (2017) and 5 Silahşörler (2019) are among his later work.
