Government Woman 2 (Hükümet Kadın 2) (translated)

Hükümet Kadın 2 is a Turkish comedy that Sermiyan Midyat both wrote and directed while also appearing on screen. The picture rewinds the story of the original Hükümet Kadın film by seven years, revisiting the same world at an earlier point.

The plot follows Xate before she becomes the first female mayor of a town in the southeast, at a time when she is simply living alongside her husband Aziz Veysel, who then holds the mayor's office. Faruk, forever chasing power, returns to stir up trouble once more, and an unexpected twist puts Xate and Faruk on a collision course again; the town is then thrown into confusion by a sudden call for an early election.

Midyat based the story on the life of his own grandmother, Zekiye Midyat. Alongside Demet Akbağ and Sermiyan Midyat, the film features Ercan Kesal, Bülent Çolak, Doğukan Polat and Mustafa Turan.
