The Sultan's Seat (Sultan Makamı) (translated)

Sultan Makamı is a Turkish drama series produced by Avşar Film and broadcast on Kanal D between 2003 and 2004. Directed by Aydın Bulut and written by Ali Ulvi Hünkar, it features music by Kemal Sahir Gürel and Kâzım Koyuncu. Set in an Istanbul neighborhood, the story weaves together the residents' hopes for the future, financial hardships, romances and conflicts of interest. Şevket Çoruh and Başak Köklükaya headlined the series as Sultan and Asiye, with Uğur Polat, Dolunay Soysert, Ruhi Sarı, Özge Borak and Yeşim Ceren Bozoğlu among the ensemble, while Tuba Büyüküstün joined for the final four episodes. Despite strong viewer interest, the show ended after a single season of 26 episodes because the screenwriter chose not to continue. Reruns aired on Euro D for a long time afterward.
