F Type (F Tipi Film)

F Type Film is a 2012 Turkish anthology drama developed as a project by Grup Yorum. It consists of nine short films directed by ten filmmakers, including Ezel Akay, Aydın Bulut, Hüseyin Karabey, Barış Pirhasan, Reis Çelik, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Mehmet İlker Altınay, and Vedat Özdemir. The film deals with the events in Turkey's F-type prisons following the "Return to Life" operation carried out simultaneously in twenty prisons on December 19, 2000.

Through its separately directed segments, the film portrays the prisoners' resistance against the isolation and solitary confinement imposed by the shift from dormitory wards to cell-based incarceration. The premiere took place on December 19, 2012, at the Atlas Cinema in Istanbul; released on December 21, 2012 with 69 prints, the film stayed in theaters for fourteen weeks and was seen by 75,643 viewers.
