Serkan Keskin — Biography

Serkan Keskin (born 25 November 1977, İzmit) is a Turkish actor, director and musician. He took his first steps on stage in 1997 through a course at the İzmit City Theatre under Işıl Kasapoğlu, appearing in small parts with the company while completing his training at the Akademi İstanbul theatre school between 1999 and 2002. He then joined the newly formed Semaver Kumpanya, where he spent many years working both as a performer and as a director.

He reached a mass audience as İsmail Abi in the TRT comedy series Leyla ile Mecnun, a role that earned him the 32nd İsmail Dümbüllü Award in 2012. His portrayal of imam Selman Bulut in İtirazım Var brought him the Best Actor prize at the 51st Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, and his work in Silsile won him Best Supporting Actor at the Adana Golden Boll festival.

His screen credits also include Sonbahar, Kosmos, Av Mevsimi, Yeraltı, Limonata, Tereddüt, Cingöz Recai, Kelebekler and Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Ahlat Ağacı. Alongside acting, he has made music with the groups Leyla The Band and Barabar.
