Fırat Tanış — Biography
Nuri Fırat Tanış was born on 5 May 1975 in Istanbul. He is of Meskhetian (Ahıska) origin. Having started theatre in high school and won acting awards in inter-school competitions, Tanış graduated from the Theatre Department of the Istanbul University State Conservatory in 1998 and worked for a time at the City Theatre.
He began his screen career in 2001 with the series Yeditepe İstanbul and made his big breakthrough as Koyu Bilal in Geniş Aile; he went on to appear in series such as Menekşe ile Halil, Ulan İstanbul, Yeşil Deniz, İstanbullu Gelin, Kulüp, Zeytin Ağacı and Adım Farah. In cinema he acted in films such as Once Upon a Time in Anatolia, Karınca Kapanı, Vay Arkadaş and Hep Yek.
Composing since a young age, his songs have been performed by names such as Teoman, Emre Altuğ, Levent Yüksel and Gülay. In 2026, following allegations made against him, he was removed from the cast of the series Delikanlı.
