Bir Zamanlar Osmanlı: Kıyam (Bir Zamanlar Osmanlı)

Bir Zamanlar Osmanlı is a Turkish historical drama series produced by Her Şey Film for TRT, which began airing on TRT 1 on March 12, 2012. Directed by Altan Dönmez and written by Ertan Kurtulan, Hilal Yıldız, Gürsel Korat and Abdullah Akin, the project was originally conceived as "Burası Osmanlı: Sır Kanunu 1711", but after objections from TRT management it was reshot and launched as "Bir Zamanlar Osmanlı: Kıyam"; its title was later simplified following cast changes in the second season.

Set during the Tulip Era under Sultan Ahmed III, the story portrays a court absorbed in nightly entertainments after the Ottoman victory over Russia, while assassinations and conspiracies deepen popular unrest. At its center stands Patrona Halil, whose brother's execution by the Grand Vizier drives him toward rebellion. Starring Türkân Şoray and Özcan Deniz, the series ran for two seasons and ended with its 20th episode on December 17, 2012, amid falling ratings.
