Nurettin Sönmez — Biography

Nurettin Sönmez is a Turkish actor born on 24 July 1978 in Istanbul. After graduating from the Mining Engineering Department of Istanbul University, he studied theatre at Yeditepe University and also worked as an instructor of Far Eastern martial arts. His skill in horseback riding and swordsmanship proved a major advantage in his roles in historical productions.

He began acting with the series Mavi Kelebekler (2011) and, following Bir Zamanlar Osmanlı Kıyam (2013), became widely known as Bamsı Beyrek in Diriliş Ertuğrul (2014), a role he continued in Kuruluş Osman (2019). In 2022 he played Kemal Yörükoğlu in the series Sipahi.
