After the Revolution (Devrimden Sonra) (translated)

Devrimden Sonra (After the Revolution) is a 2011 Turkish political drama film written and directed by Mustafa Kenan Aybastı. Released on May 6, 2011, it was produced under the Nâzım Hikmet Cultural Center, an institution dedicated to screening independent productions.

Set in Turkey after a hypothetical socialist revolution, the film is composed of twelve interconnected stories exploring how ordinary citizens react to sweeping political and social change. Nationalized factories, free healthcare, education and public transport, and universal home ownership provoke confusion, joy and perhaps fear, painting a utopian portrait of the country.
