Cezmi Baskın — Biography

Cezmi Baskın (born 11 March 1949 in Istanbul) is a Turkish actor and theatre director.

He began acting as an amateur at the Bakırköy community theatre and, after graduating from the Istanbul Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, trained at the LCC Language and Culture Center under Ayla Algan and Beklan Algan. He went on to work with Grup Oyuncuları, Ankara Sanat Tiyatrosu, the State Theatres — including the İzmir State Theatre — and Gökkuşağı Oyuncuları, appearing in and directing numerous plays.

On television he became widely known as the painter İbrikçi in Bizimkiler and as Osman in Akasya Durağı. He has appeared in more than sixty films since the 1970s, among them Vizontele, G.O.R.A., Beynelmilel and Bizum Hoca, and won several awards for his performance in Beynelmilel.
