G.O.R.A. (G.O.R.A)

G.O.R.A. (full title: G.O.R.A.: A Space Movie) is a 2004 Turkish science-fiction comedy written by and starring Cem Yılmaz and directed by Ömer Faruk Sorak. Filming began in 2002, and the picture ranked among the most expensive Turkish productions of its era; released in November 2004, it drew around 4 million viewers, becoming one of the year's highest-grossing domestic films.

The story follows Arif, a shrewd carpet salesman abducted by aliens and taken to the planet GORA, where he looks for a way to escape and unexpectedly finds love. Laced with parodic nods to Hollywood titles such as The Matrix and Star Wars, the film also features Özge Özberk, Ozan Güven, Rasim Öztekin, Özkan Uğur and Şafak Sezer. It was followed by the sequels A.R.O.G (2008) and Arif V 216 (2018).
