Şafak Sezer — Biography

Erol Şafak Sezer was born on 10 October 1970 in Ankara. In 1989, while playing amateur football for Gençlerbirliği, he met the Ankara Folk Players theatre group and stepped onto the stage, making his debut in Haldun Taner's play Eşeğin Gölgesi and also working at the Ankara Ekin Theatre.

He first appeared in front of the camera in 1993 with the series Bir Düğün Masalı. After supporting roles in films such as Vizontele (2001), Rus Gelin (2003) and G.O.R.A (2004), he became known as Ercüment in the Hababam Sınıfı series, Tezcan in the Maskeli Beşler films and Fikret in the Kutsal Damacana films. His real breakthrough came with the role of Özgür in Kolpaçino (2009), whose screenplay he also wrote, and he continued the series with Kolpaçino: Bomba (2011), Kolpaçino 3. Devre (2016) and Kolpaçino 4 4'lük (2023).

Loved on television as Erman Kuzu in the series Türk Malı, the actor has also appeared in productions such as Ketenpere (2017), Kutsal Damacana 4 (2023), Kutsal Damacana 5: Zombi (2025) and Ketenpere: Dalavere (2026). He continues to work as an actor, screenwriter and director.
