Russian Bride (Rus Gelin) (translated)

Rus Gelin (Russian Bride) is a Turkish comedy film directed by Zeki Alasya from a screenplay by Umur Bugay. The story begins when Lena, a world champion archer from Moldova, needs Turkish citizenship in order to compete for Turkey, and the only quick way to get it is a marriage on paper. Federation president Mithat Kocabaş persuades Rıza, an aging former wrestler, to become the groom, and the events that unfold around this mismatched pair supply the film's humor.

Alasya also appears in front of the camera as federation president Mithat Kocabaş, while Metin Akpınar plays Rıza Pehlivan; the cast also includes Sibel Taşçıoğlu. The film was released theatrically in 2003, including a run in Germany.
