Erdal Tosun — Biography

Erdal Tosun (April 9, 1963, Istanbul – November 30, 2016, Istanbul) was a Turkish actor and voice artist. He was the son of Yeşilçam actor Necdet Tosun and the brother of actor Gürdal Tosun. After Beyoğlu Fındıklı High School, he studied at the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory.

He founded his own theatre, worked at the Antalya State Theatre and then joined the BKM Players. On television he achieved great fame with Bir Demet Tiyatro (1995); his characters etched him into the audience's memory.

In cinema he appeared in widely watched films such as G.O.R.A. (2004), Gönül Yarası, Organize İşler and Babam ve Oğlum, and in his later years in the comedies Çakallarla Dans (2010), Düğün Dernek 2: Sünnet (2015) and Küçük Esnaf (2016).

He died in 2016 at the age of 53 in a traffic accident in Istanbul; he continues to be commemorated on the anniversaries of his death.
