Magic Carpet Ride (Organize İşler)

Organized Crime is a 2005 Turkish dark comedy film directed by and starring Yılmaz Erdoğan. Written by Erdoğan himself, produced by Beşiktaş Cultural Center, and featuring music by Ozan Çolakoğlu, the film tells a story of fraud, entirely shot in Istanbul.

At the heart of the story is a small-scale con artist gang and their leader, Asım Noyan, who engages in everything from car theft to various other scams. Asım unexpectedly crosses paths with Samet, a comedian who is a failed Superman impersonator, and Samet is unknowingly drawn into the gang's world. The life of Umut, a girl from a cultured but impoverished family, also becomes intertwined with the story of these characters as they search for a stolen car.

Featuring a large cast including Yılmaz Erdoğan, Tolga Çevik, Demet Akbağ, Altan Erkekli, Özgü Namal, Cem Yılmaz, and Erdal Tosun, the film stands out as the first Turkish production shot in 1:2.35 Cinemascope format. The production garnered acclaim at the Sadri Alışık Awards for acting performances by Tolga Çevik and Cem Yılmaz, and was followed by a sequel, Organize İşler: Sazan Sarmalı, in 2019.
