He is known for films shown at major festivals and, in recent years, for playing Nadim Baybars in the series Uzak Şehir. In 2025 he won the Best Actor award at the 44th Istanbul Film Festival.

He started with theatre and dance work at the Mesopotamia Culture Center in Diyarbakır, continued at its Istanbul branch from 1996, and in 2003 helped found the Seyr-i Mesel Sanat Atölyesi with a group of friends. His first screen role was in Yeşim Ustaoğlu's Güneşe Yolculuk (1999), which returned from the Berlin Film Festival with awards. It was followed by Yüksel Yavuz's Küçük Özgürlük (2003), shown in the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes, Hiner Saleem's Kilomètre Zéro (2005), Organize İşler, Beynelmilel and Pandora'nın Kutusu. In 2006 his short film Kimlik competed at the Antalya Golden Orange festival.

In the 2010s he appeared in Krala Mektup, Mucize and the German Tatort: Zorn Gottes, and has since combined television and cinema in Siyah İnci, Çukur, Ya Çok Seversen, Yalı Çapkını (as Tayyar) and Elaha.
