Black Pearl (Siyah İnci) (translated)

Siyah İnci (Black Pearl) is a Turkish drama-romance television series broadcast on Star TV from 28 September 2017 to 15 February 2018. Produced by Gold Film under producer Faruk Turgut, it was directed by Cem Karcı together with Erol Özlevi and Benal Tahiri, with a writing team that included Başak Angigün, Alphan Dikmen, Yekta Torun and Gül Gürsoy. The show ran for a single season of 20 episodes, while a longer 67-episode cut was prepared for international markets.

The story follows Hazal, a young woman engaged to Kenan, a handsome fisherman. The day before their wedding she is forced into marriage with Vural, a wealthy businessman who fell for her at first sight while she was working as a waitress at his birthday party, and who sees in her the image of his late wife. Believing Hazal abandoned him for money and high-society life, Kenan builds himself into a successful businessman bent on revenge, and the series traces the tangle of love, resentment and reckoning between the three.

Hande Erçel stars as Hazal opposite Tolgahan Sayışman as Kenan and Berk Hakman as Vural; the cast also includes Hüseyin Avni Danyal, Yeşim Büber, Neriman Uğur, İpek Bağrıaçık, Mehmet Mehmedof, Melis Sezen, Çağla Demir and Burak Altay. Under the title "Pérola Negra" the series was also shown in Angola and Mozambique on Zap Novelas in 2018.
