Melis Sezen — Biography

Melis Sezen was born on 2 December 1993 in Istanbul. Drawn to theatre from an early age, she trained in drama and performed on amateur stages, while also earning a degree from Koç University in media and visual arts and pursuing dance at a professional level. She stepped onto television screens in 2016 with Hayat Bazen Tatlıdır, and the following year took on the role of Ebru in Siyah İnci. After moving into film with independent productions in 2018, she appeared in Bizim İçin Şampiyon, drawn from the real story of a racehorse and its jockey. In 2019 she took her first lead as Yasemin in Leke, and that same year featured in Sevgili Geçmiş and in director Mahsun Kırmızıgül's Mucize 2: Aşk, a stretch that saw her crack the top 100 of IMDb's worldwide popularity chart. She won over a wide audience playing Derin, sharing lead billing with Cansu Dere, in Sadakatsiz, which launched in October 2020 and ran through 2022. In 2021 she picked up the rising star honor at the Golden Butterfly Awards. She went on to appear in the Show TV series Deha and Delikanlı in the years that followed.
