Lale Başar — Biography

Born in Ordu on 27 January 1964, Lale Başar trained at the Hacettepe University State Conservatory, earning her degree from its Theatre Department in 1986 before immediately taking up a post with the Bursa State Theatre; eight years later she transferred to the Ankara State Theatre, where she remained until retiring in 2009.

Between film and television work over the following decades she took on roles in Deniz Yıldızı, Karamel, Yeni Evli, Komiser Nevzat, Evimin Erkeği, Kod Adı Kaos and Duvar, and appeared on the big screen in Köksüz, Göl Zamanı and Unutursam Fısılda -- the first of these three earning her a Best Actress prize at the Berlin Film Festival along with Best Supporting Actress honors from Altın Koza and the Sinema Yazarları Derneği. More recently she took the role of Perihan Kösaner in the 2023 series Adım Farah, having earlier played Kamilla in 2017's Yeni Gelin, and in 2024 she signed on to the series Kötü Kan, extending a career now spanning decades.
