Uğur Güneş — Biography

Uğur Güneş was born on 10 November 1987 in Ankara. He completed his primary and secondary education at Kütükçü Alibey Primary School and studied acting at Ankara University.

In the early years of his screen career, Güneş appeared in the series Deniz Yıldızı and Yeniden Başla, followed by Benim İçin Üzülme, Urfalıyam Ezelden and Düşler ve Umutlar. He gained fame with the character Tuğtekin Bey in Diriliş Ertuğrul, a role for which he was named Actor of the Year by the Ankara Ministry of Youth. In 2017 his performance in İsimsizler earned him the Jury Special Award at the Young Turkey Summit Academy Awards.

His role as Yılmaz in Bir Zamanlar Çukurova, which began in 2018, brought him international fame in Iran, Spain and the Arab countries; for this role he received the Best Series Trio award at the 24th Golden Lens Awards. In 2023 he portrayed Saladin in the series Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi. Having appeared in the films Tamam mıyız?, Şeytan-ı Racim, Cep Herkülü: Naim Süleymanoğlu and Serçenin Gözyaşı, Güneş became the lead actor of NOW's series Adana Ayazı in 2026.
