Uğur Güneş — Biography

Uğur Güneş was born on 10 November 1987 in Ankara and grew up with one brother and one sister. He took up acting at the suggestion of a friend at Ankara Art Theatre, later graduating from Ankara University's Faculty of Language, History and Geography, Theatre Department. His screen career began in 2011 with the series Yeniden Başla, followed by the character Çetin in Urfalıyam Ezelden, and he moved into film in 2013 with Tamam mıyız? and Şeytan-ı Racim. His portrayal of Tuğtekin Bey in Diriliş: Ertuğrul earned him an Actor of the Year award from the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2016. In 2017 his role as district governor Fatih Keskin in İsimsizler brought him a Jury Special Award. Between 2018 and 2021 he played Yılmaz Akkaya in Bir Zamanlar Çukurova, a role that gained him recognition in Iran, Spain and Arab countries and won the Best Series Trio award at the 24th Golden Lens Awards. He went on to play Davut Karaman in Kanunsuz Topraklar (2021-2022) and Captain Ali Banazlı in Al Sancak from 2023, the same year he took the lead in Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi and appeared in Serçenin Gözyaşı and Cep Herkülü: Naim Süleymanoğlu. In 2026 he took the lead in NOW's series Adana Ayazı.
